At Banbury Gliding Club, you can experience the sheer beauty and pleasure of silent flight. Our Gliding Flight Experiences make an excellent gift for any occasion – or simply a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Our experiences can also be purchased as a gift-voucher, making them ideal gifts for Christmas, birthdays, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and wedding gifts. Whatever your occasion, gliding is the perfect day out!
Each flight involves a launch to 2,000 feet above the ground and can last up to 25 minutes depending on weather conditions. The instructor will give a briefing on the ground beforehand about the glider, the flight, and what to expect. Flying from the front cockpit of our two-seater glider ensures you’ll get a birds-eye view while the instructor flies from the rear seat. The glider has full dual controls so the instructor can control everything ensuring a safe and enjoyable flight.
A gliding flight experience makes an ideal gift
Once closer to the ground, the instructor will explain how he is setting up for the approach and landing, for which you, in the front, have a grandstand view, bringing your gliding flight experience to a close.
All of our instructors are fully qualified British Gliding Association instructors and are also volunteers. They are fully passionate about this activity and love sharing their enthusiasm with our guests.

Vouchers are valid for 12 months.
You can then give the voucher as a gift and the recipient can contact the club with their details to book the experience using the Experience Flight request form.

Banbury Gliding Club operates the Gliding Flight Experiences on dedicated Mondays between April and September.
Please note that it is possible to upgrade your Monday experience to a weekend flight.
The Experience Flight request form can be used to check available dates and to request your chosen dates.
