Learn to fly gliders
LEARN TO FLY
As well as gliding Trial Lessons and Introductory Membership, we also offer a Learn to Fly course. This special package is open to people with no flying experience, or have been away from flying for the last 5 years, as well as those who want to progress from either their Trial Lesson or Introductory Membership.
On this course package you are treated as a full member of the Club in almost every way and you will get a fantastic start to your gliding career. Training takes place throughout the year at weekends and public holidays.
This package is excellent value for those who have always dreamed of becoming a pilot or have caught the bug for flying after enjoying a Trial Lesson or Introductory Membership.
Our Learn to Fly Package comprises of the following for only £395
- 20 aero tow flights launched to 2,000ft with all flying and instructor time included.
- 4 months membership of Banbury Gliding Club.
- A Glider Pilot’s logbook in which to record your flying progress.
- A book introducing you to key aspects of gliding for ground study.
At the end of the package, you can transfer to our normal membership rates
and continue your voyage to solo.
We realise that flying isn’t for absolutely everyone. If within the first two flights, either you or we decide that the package is not for you, we can convert the first flight (or two) into trial lessons and will refund all but the cost of the flights taken. This package is also available to purchase as a gift.
All flying is done with fully qualified British Gliding Association gliding instructors, with ground briefing and flight time included, giving you the opportunity to safely experience and master silent flight.
